My beautiful baby! I'm so happy that Kindom Soul is finally being released to the public. I felt a tremendous amount of pressure when writing this.
With Kingdom Cold, I just wrote for fun. No one had any expectations for it. I was extremely unknown and had no expectations going in. But with Kingdom Soul, I hadn't planned a sequel, I'd never written a sequel before, and I felt this sudden pressure not to disappoint the people who had vested interests in the characters and story.
Along the way, I realized that the opinion that mattered most was my own. Am I proud of it? Do I like how it turned out? The truth is, I am and I do. I see an obvious improvement as far as technical skill and storytelling go, though I couldn't tell you which book I prefer as they are VASTLY different in both style and tone.
Even with these calming thoughts, I must say I felt relieved when the first few reviews came back positive. My Advanced Copy Readers all connected with different aspects that I hadn't considered. They also favored different parts the most. With Kingdom Cold, everyone loved and hated the same scenes. (We can all agree that the consummation ceremony was awesome, right?)
One of the coolest changes this time around is that ALL THREE books have been moved to a permanent home on KINDLE UNLIMITED.
****Psssst, book 3 takes place mostly in Vires. That means a full wonderland of cultural gold, based on my last few years in Korea. Get ready! Hehe... I'm halfway done...should probably get back to it then.
So here's a fun question to leave you with, who do you want Charlotte to end up with?
