Audiobook Auditions are OPEN

Hi everyone!  I've been meaning to make a post about how to audition to perform in one of my Audiobooks, ever since my first one went live on YouTube.  I love and am very devoted to the voice actors I often work with, but sometimes there are too many roles to fill and fresh voices are always welcome.  As far as experience goes, you don't need any! But usually, if it's your first time, you'll have to be open to doing "pick-ups" or lines that need to be read again. You'll also need your own recording equipment.  You absolutely will be paid for your work, but the pay depends on experience as, the more experience you have the less time it takes to edit.  Male or female VA's welcome. Here's the script. A snippet from one of my ongoing projects, Failed Wishes.  Email me at BrittniChenelle@gmail.com with "Audition" in the subject line. Include your name, your level of experience, and your fee per finished hour, along with your recording.  Thank...

Christmas Ruse The Musical

Christmas Ruse The Musical Seventeen-year-old Holly wants nothing more than full bellies for her family on Christmas. Instead, she's whisked away to compete against eleven other girls in a series of Christmas-themed contests to win the heart of the reclusive prince. To make matters worse, the prince is an arrogant, servant-hating jerk, or so she thinks. The real prince is hiding in plain sight, waiting for the competition and the magic of Christmas to reveal his true bride. FREE TO WATCH ON YOUTUBE! I think the video will be available below after the video goes live. A Christmas Musical? What was I thinking? I wanted to write this blog to talk about my process in creating this. Writing It actually started last year. I had planned to write a Christmas Vella that I wasn't able to complete on time. Vella is a neat platform for testing ideas and I was happy with how this story was coming out, I knew that I wanted to take another shot at it this year since I only had a little ...

My Entire Catalogue

Well, we're in this now. It's a little wild to see all of my work lined up like this and there were more that I eventually unpublished that I didn't add to this graphic. Now that I'm here, I just feel this immense sense of gratitude to everyone who believed in me while I recklessly pursued this dream. I absolutely have those days when I feel like I'm not getting anywhere but not today. Today I'm responsible for a slew of diverse reads that are unique and quirky just like me.  Next year I'd like to add; Fairygodmothers, Mermaids, Shifters, Fae, and Demigods to this list. Keep an eye out for those. <3

Find Nymph Totem on Kindle Vella

They should've known when they damned me... Hell makes monsters of us all. Nova has lived all her life in The Garden, an island that floats above Earth, undetected. Amongst the Gardeners, one's future is determined by the Totem Ceremony an age-old rite that assigns each youth to one of four elements they'll spend their lives protecting. When Nova's Totem Ceremony goes horribly wrong and she's placed in a fifth Totem located in the Underworld, she's terrified... but the real danger lies within.

Writing POC: The 5 Major Obstacles You'll Face

When I first became an author, I was thrilled to have the opportunity to represent the African American community the way I'd always wanted to be represented growing up, but in the two years I've been publishing my enthusiasm has waned.  As a teenager, I craved books with Black protagonists--books about magic, romance, and adventure. Unfortunately, the only books with Black protagonists I ever came across back then were about slavery and discrimination. Those books have great value but do little for escapism, especially for a Black teen in rural New Hampshire.  I entered the industry of self-publishing two years ago and I've been lucky to find more success than most new authors. I even managed to land on the USA Today bestseller's list. I dove into the writing community and began networking with successful indie authors and over the course of two years, I've uncovered a slew of obstacles that keep Black characters out of the spotlight.  1. Prepare to Fight If you me...

Celebration Post! USA TODAY!

Yay! I'm a USA Today Bestselling Author! I'm going to keep this relatively short, as I plan on doing a How-To post later on but I wanted to pop in to celebrate hitting such a cool milestone. Not only did I manage to successfully make the run, but I also dreamed up, organized, and ran the entire project. I feel super accomplished, even scored a publisher credit but most of all I learned a TON about book launches. I mean, if you can launch a book to 5000 copies in one week, what else do you really need? I'm a bit exhausted because it really was as brutal as they say and far more difficult than I originally anticipated. We were running behind our target numbers nearly the entire run and we'd anticipated falling short of the list, so this is a wonderful surprise.  Special thank you to everyone who supported our run. Including those who bought the set, shared or liked a promo image or cheered us on through launch week. <3  Huge thank you to Melissa Storm, our genius lis...
