1. Vellum Vellum is a formatting software and here's why you need it.  You'll need to update your books often. I didn't know this when I started publishing. Even if you don't need to fix typos that slipped through (and we all do from time to time) with the dawn of the ebook, you want to be leaving links to the next book in a series or your latest bestseller at the end.  Sometimes you link to your preorder, and the next thing you know it's been two years since that book has gone live and it still says, preorder the next book at the end of the first one.  But wait there's more. Vellum has the extras. Chapter headings, background images? Text conversations, handwritten letters? They are constantly adding things that make their program better which in turn, makes our books better. With a click of a button, you can have everything the pros have and you don't need to be tech-savvy to use it.  Before I had vellum, I had to pay for formatting and then pay every time...

I knew my stance on AI immediately, but it's not for the reasons you think. AI is not for me. I've seen this debate explode over this past year and I've, for the most part, kept quiet on the subject, but I feel now is the best time to break my silence.  Most people who are against AI are accused of the following: Fear of new technology/ change Threatened by those who use AI in their writing/art/audiobook narration Not understanding the technology In denial that it's here to stay Delusions of moral superiority None of these make up the basis for my decision here.  Firstly, I don't think AI is a bad thing. It's not. I just don't think it belongs in the Arts. I also don't see it as a threat to my craft AT ALL.  I can see the appeal. You can print out a new book every day, right?  Hi everyone!  I've been meaning to make a post about how to audition to perform in one of my Audiobooks, ever since my first one went live on YouTube.  I love and am very devoted to the voice actors I often work with, but sometimes there are too many roles to fill and fresh voices are always welcome.  As far as experience goes, you don't need any! But usually, if it's your first time, you'll have to be open to doing "pick-ups" or lines that need to be read again. You'll also need your own recording equipment.  You absolutely will be paid for your work, but the pay depends on experience as, the more experience you have the less time it takes to edit.  Male or female VA's welcome.
