The Brave & The Broken is LIVE!

Kingdom Untold Release!

My first series is complete! It was a terrifying experience to write this book because I'd never attempted a series before this and I had no clue how to tie everything up at the end. I was thrilled to watch everything come together line by line and when it was finished, I was reasonably happy. It was only after the book went through my beta readers that I realized it needed one more chapter-- a moment of closure for one relationship in particular.  It ended up being my favorite chapter from any of the books. Needless to say, I'm very happy with it and look forward to laying this series to rest while I tackle a new one. I plan to write 4 or 5 more books this year and rapid release them in the new year.  But before I let Kingdom Cold go, I'm turning it into a Box Set with a fresh new look.  If any of you have read the Kingdom Cold series, specifically Kingdom Untold, leave a comment below with your thoughts. :D Check out the amazing new cover for t...

Red Ribbon Tree

Look who got a nice new look! I'm only partly through a rebranding of this book but it has a new title, cover, and blurb. Red Ribbon Tree is a Middle-Grade Fantasy Romance about two high school students that get pulled through a book portal. To return home, they must solve the mystery of the Red Ribbon Tree. While the book is nice and includes some cool illustrations, the audiobook of this is AMAZING. The actress is absolutely incredible giving a hilarious and memorable accent to each character and springing the story to life. If you have Audible or like audiobooks, I highly recommended Red Ribbon Tree. So the female main character, Eliza, is a jock and the male main character is a video gamer. Which do you think will be better at fighting dragons?

Musings of a Book Launch

The book is done. The promotions are scheduled. Launch day has arrived.  I'm not sure what I thought this day would feel like. There were so many memorable days that led me to this book launch. The day I completed the first draft. The day I finished editing. The day the proof copy came in. The day I showed my dad the dedication. When I made my first sale. When my first review came in. When the first hardback book came in. When I got my first 1-star review. The day that Gooogle officially classified me as an author. In comparison, today feels sort of ordinary. The calm AFTER the storm. It feels like the end of something rather than the beginning.  Something unusual did happen this morning though. I received a message from a stranger saying that I am now her favorite author. My pre-orders were converted to sales.  My amazing mother threw me a book launch party.  I've spent every waking moment on book promotions and gathering book review...

The HARDEST Part of Being an Author

I've heard it said that if you can be anything other than a writer-- do it.  But what's so hard about being a writer? Before I became one, I assumed it was a cushy job spent in luxurious cafés sipping coffee and slaying imaginary dragons. If that's true, why does every writer I know refer to the process as utter agony? It's not the patience or dedication to writing every day. It's not the hours spent in solitude or out of touch with reality. It's not even the lack of a steady paycheck. After careful reflection, I've nailed it down to the hardest part. The hardest part of being a writer is believing in yourself . At every stage of the process you find yourself face to face with this obstacle. You question whether you're good enough. You're scared to show anyone your book. You're crushed by every bad review. Not only are you not making any money, you're SPENDING money. Editing, cover design, advertising-- it all costs HUGE money with...

About Brittni Chenelle

5 FUN FACTS ABOUT BRITTNI CHENELLE 1. She lives in South Korea. It's true. She does most of her updates in the morning or at night to account for the time difference. She also infuses most of her novels with her observations about Korean culture. 2. She's a Type 1 Diabetic. She uses an insulin pump for survival and refers to her diabetes as "Beetie" which is what inspired her children's book "Life with Beetie". When she wants something from her parents she tells them, "My Beetie hurts." It's a trick that has never failed her.  3. She doesn't really BELIEVE in fiction. Despite all the; Dragons, Elves, and Magic present in her novel "Involuted the Tale of the Red Ribbon Tree", Brittni INSISTS that it's a true story. 4. She's OBSESSED with dark chocolate. She made me put that in and would also like me to inform you (on an unrelated note) that her birthday is in May. 5. Sorry guys, she's married...
