I published my 10th novel!

I just published my 10th full-length novel.  It's wild to see them all lined up like this.  I've come to realize that I write guilty pleasures.  Angsty romance, enemies to lovers, morally gray characters, sexual tension, self-discovery.  If the character isn't being dragged into love kicking and screaming, I don't want it.  You can grab my newest YA Romantasy Nymph Totem here: https://www.amazon.com/Nymph-Totem-Brittni-Chenelle-ebook/dp/B0CW19F8Q4 Also, if you're interested in buying direct I have some goodies in my store including the Nymph Totem audiobook! https://brittnichenelle.myshopify.com/

The 5 Best Self-Publishing Tools 2024

1. Vellum Vellum is a formatting software and here's why you need it.  You'll need to update your books often. I didn't know this when I started publishing. Even if you don't need to fix typos that slipped through (and we all do from time to time) with the dawn of the ebook, you want to be leaving links to the next book in a series or your latest bestseller at the end.  Sometimes you link to your preorder, and the next thing you know it's been two years since that book has gone live and it still says, preorder the next book at the end of the first one.  But wait there's more. Vellum has the extras. Chapter headings, background images? Text conversations, handwritten letters? They are constantly adding things that make their program better which in turn, makes our books better. With a click of a button, you can have everything the pros have and you don't need to be tech-savvy to use it.  Before I had vellum, I had to pay for formatting and then pay every time

Why AI Is Not For Me: Indie Publishing

I knew my stance on AI immediately, but it's not for the reasons you think. AI is not for me. I've seen this debate explode over this past year and I've, for the most part, kept quiet on the subject, but I feel now is the best time to break my silence.  Most people who are against AI are accused of the following: Fear of new technology/ change Threatened by those who use AI in their writing/art/audiobook narration Not understanding the technology In denial that it's here to stay Delusions of moral superiority None of these make up the basis for my decision here.  Firstly, I don't think AI is a bad thing. It's not. I just don't think it belongs in the Arts. I also don't see it as a threat to my craft AT ALL.  I can see the appeal. You can print out a new book every day, right? Can you imagine the money you'd save?  Yes, I can. I spent thousands producing my books; editors, formatting, artists, graphic designers, voice actors, research, and ads promoti

Audiobook Auditions are OPEN

Hi everyone!  I've been meaning to make a post about how to audition to perform in one of my Audiobooks, ever since my first one went live on YouTube.  I love and am very devoted to the voice actors I often work with, but sometimes there are too many roles to fill and fresh voices are always welcome.  As far as experience goes, you don't need any! But usually, if it's your first time, you'll have to be open to doing "pick-ups" or lines that need to be read again. You'll also need your own recording equipment.  You absolutely will be paid for your work, but the pay depends on experience as, the more experience you have the less time it takes to edit.  Male or female VA's welcome. Here's the script. A snippet from one of my ongoing projects, Failed Wishes.  Email me at BrittniChenelle@gmail.com with "Audition" in the subject line. Include your name, your level of experience, and your fee per finished hour, along with your recording.  Thank

Christmas Ruse The Musical

Christmas Ruse The Musical Seventeen-year-old Holly wants nothing more than full bellies for her family on Christmas. Instead, she's whisked away to compete against eleven other girls in a series of Christmas-themed contests to win the heart of the reclusive prince. To make matters worse, the prince is an arrogant, servant-hating jerk, or so she thinks. The real prince is hiding in plain sight, waiting for the competition and the magic of Christmas to reveal his true bride. FREE TO WATCH ON YOUTUBE! I think the video will be available below after the video goes live. A Christmas Musical? What was I thinking? I wanted to write this blog to talk about my process in creating this. Writing It actually started last year. I had planned to write a Christmas Vella that I wasn't able to complete on time. Vella is a neat platform for testing ideas and I was happy with how this story was coming out, I knew that I wanted to take another shot at it this year since I only had a little

My Entire Catalogue

Well, we're in this now. It's a little wild to see all of my work lined up like this and there were more that I eventually unpublished that I didn't add to this graphic. Now that I'm here, I just feel this immense sense of gratitude to everyone who believed in me while I recklessly pursued this dream. I absolutely have those days when I feel like I'm not getting anywhere but not today. Today I'm responsible for a slew of diverse reads that are unique and quirky just like me.  Next year I'd like to add; Fairygodmothers, Mermaids, Shifters, Fae, and Demigods to this list. Keep an eye out for those. <3

They should've known when they damned me... Hell makes monsters of us all. Nova has lived all her life in The Garden, an island that floats above Earth, undetected. Amongst the Gardeners, one's future is determined by the Totem Ceremony an age-old rite that assigns each youth to one of four elements they'll spend their lives protecting.
